This workshop mini-series explores how academics can infuse their writing with more creativity, by learning from local, Detroit writers in other non-academic genres. Each workshop will discuss a brief excerpt from the guest writer’s work, and use that as a jumping-off point to discuss particular writing features and techniques that cross over the different writing genres in the room. Some time will also be dedicated to real-time writing, where participants can apply those writing techniques to a work-in-progress or start working on something new. Participants will then be able to share their work and receive feedback from the guest writer and their peers.
Walk-ins welcome, but RSVP preferred: firstname.lastname@example.org
